Lenten Rose Time

The great thing about the helleborus, or Lenten Rose, is that it surprises people with its early blooms--fittingly at the beginning of the Lenten season.

Here are some of the Lenten roses that I started with a small plant from the Franklin Garden Club sale several years ago.

I was happy to add the pretty rose Lenten Rose last year.

Another Christmas Gift

My husband gave me this very useful Christmas gift.  He had seen one at my son's house and had learned how handy it is.

If you have grown tired of turning a kettle on and off on your stove, this is the gift for you. Just push a button and in a couple of minutes your water is ready for cereal or coffee, if you drink coffee.

It goes off automatically so you don't have to worry about leaving the pot on.

It is made by Krups and as you might expect, it is a little expensive, but I plan to use it for a long time.

Greenhouse Ready

This week's nice weather has allowed us to almost finish our greenhouse.

The information about how long it would take for this project obviously had a 24-hour super worker with a little help and unlimited energy in mind when it said that the greenhouse could be put together in one day.

My new gardening cart is settled happily in place.

We are now looking for a shade covering to protect fragile plants on hot days and for some shelves that
snap into place on the sides.
